Adidas Crazy Explosive PK - Ultra Boost detailed review of basketball?

As one of the adidas summer trilogy, Crazy Explosive made a strong impression with its extremely dazzling launch color scheme and the super sleek Primeknit. Originally designed for John Wall and promoted by Andrew Wiggins, is the Crazy Explosive a multi-position shoe?

The entire body of the shoe is made from Primeknit and the extra thick inner bootie from neoprene and the mesh fabric gives a feeling of interior-out luxury that is rarely seen on basketball shoes. The wool is quite stretchy, but not equal to Ultra Boost, but quite thick and feels very good to the hand. The cheaper mesh version made from mesh fabric is also quite ok, it just doesn’t feel worth the money. CE is also a soft high-heeled shoe that is precisely when the ankles are unobstructed and the shoe in and out is quite easy.

adidas continues to use only 4 piercing holes for Crazy Explosive, which is quite strange that CE has much more material than Crazylight Boost 2016. The two side loops are lower than usual, connected to the cable. underneath the wool layer. The big round laces are nice, but you need to tie them properly to avoid slipping while walking. Also, do not tie too tightly because it will increase the pressure on the cable ends.

One of the more impressive things about Crazy Explosive when it was first revealed was that the Boost sole was extremely thick, but the adidas also tricked your eyes a bit (will be mentioned in Cushioning). Wrapped over the Boost layer on the outer edge is a plastic or roll cage. Unlike Crazylight, the adidas covers both the heel and the nose and adds a hole in the heel to show off the Boost behind it. I don’t know if it is, but this exposed Boost looks and feels softer than the other.

The sole is a combination of Kobe XI’s groove, Crazy 97’s curved sole and the maze or “coral” soles as stated on the main adidas page. Under the Boost class there is also a piece of 8 that protects the soles of the feet and keeps the Boost stable, similar to the Rose 5, 6 or any other Boost sports shoes.

Crazy Explosive is even lighter than Crazy “Light” 2016.

Hugging (Fit)

adidas Crazy Explosive review

5 out of 5, 10 out of 10 or A + can all be used to describe this side of Crazy Explosive. The fabric and wool almost hugging the legs from nose to heels brings a feeling of lockdown as well as “flattering” quite already. The heel block will be a bit tight at first but the discomfort should go away after just a few passes. Fit is Crazy Explosive’s best side and best value for money. In this trilogy and even this year, adidas has no comparable shoe.

The inside of the shoes has quite a few ventilation holes, but the bootie layer is equipped with a dense hole so the shoes do not get hot. At least I think so since I haven’t been able to try it during hot weather. In addition to leg pain if tied too tight and a little uncomfortable initially, Crazy Explosive has nothing to criticize in this regard.

Traction

adidas Crazy Explosive review

The base of the CE curves up completely, almost like a running shoe that also makes the angle of the cleat to the ground more tense and a little more friction. The soft rubber material is quite anti-dust, but it doesn’t feel “fast” or “squishy” like Crazylight Boost. “Slowly but surely” is probably a word to say, but it can be guaranteed that the shoe will barely slip and makes turning quite easily. After all, the CE should inherently be J. Wall 3.

Another strong point of the base is that it doesn’t need to be cleaned with my hands, something that I’m a bit sad at the club. However, the rubber layer feels more fragile than many other shoes. It’s easy to get dirty, scratched, and flaky and is sure to be a nightmare for street ballers. I took it out on the street just a few times but I can use my hands to lift the top rubber layer out. However, the lower rubber layer also has a larger version and (probably) has better grip.

Rating 4/5. Subtract half point to 3.5 due to durability.

Cushioning

adidas Crazy Explosive review

To continue to avoid losing time (by wasting time), it can be said that the heels of Crazy Explosive are still great and not different from the 2016. Even with the help of the “shell”, it feels more elastic. I don’t remember how many times I played on the heels of CE every time, probably a few dozen times a day.

Either way, the biggest difference is still the toe. As mentioned above, the CE tip is curved and rounded up and the Boost amount directly under your feet is thinner than you see from the sides. adidas probably does so to increase the pitch feel and contribute to a firmer hold. But that doesn’t mean you won’t feel a little cheated. As in the image below, the Boost in the nose is just “fake” only.

adidas Crazy Explosive review

This has two consequences, the first is that the ability to absorb shock is reduced. Club like D.Rose 7 “dress” more on the nose and also quieter. But instead, Crazy Explosive is more bouncing. Part of the reason may be that the rubber is soft and partly because the hard plastic under the heel doesn’t cover the toe pad. In general, you have shoes that are easier to navigate, bounce, but not as smooth as imagined.

Strength (Support)

adidas Crazy Explosive review

Crazy Explosive has almost every feature of a solid shoe. From the extremely tight body hugging to details such as the heel block, the roll cage wrapped for both the nose and the heel, your feet will almost stay in the shoe and are protected tightly. The No.8 plastic lends itself to the soles of the feet and provides a springboard for the Boost class. And yet, Crazy Explosive has an ultra-wide sole, which is 1 cm wider than most other shoes. Is this enough to guarantee you won’t be tipped over?

adidas Crazy Explosive review

Almost enough. If the base of the Crazy Explosive is not too curved and the heel is a little more solid. I used to flip my ankle slightly twice in a row when I first went Crazy Explosive. Although I was very mild, it also made me feel that the shoes were a bit problematic. After that, I didn’t have any problems, maybe because my legs got used to this type of soles.

Performance on price

adidas Crazy Explosive review

With an initial price of $ 150, Crazy Explosive just enough to meet the standards. But now you can get these shoes for a discount of $ 120- $ 130. The mesh version is a bit cheaper and is also quite worth the money if you can earn it for under $ 100.

adidas Crazy Explosive – Conclusion

adidas Crazy Explosive review

Crazy Explosive It is an almost perfect shoe without taking into account the strength of the sole and the thinness of the Boost. This is a special shoe suitable for players who are always punching, cutting, but like the feeling of maximum leg hugging and not afraid of a high neck. Most players in every position are good for Crazy Explosive if you don’t mind a bit of a concussion. In fact, Crazy Explosive still gets the most out of the NBA’s PFs (Guess which pair C goes with the most?).
