Reviews Crazy Explosive 2017 Primeknit

Crazy Explosive was a worthy addition to last year’s adidas Basketball collection. On this momentum, adidas has just officially introduced the 2017 Primeknit version which is launched next July. Here EACHSHOES would like to analyze and compare the 2016 and 2017 versions for your reference.

Shoe’s body

One reason I really like Crazy Explosive and adidas knit shoes generally because they do not use a classic design. This design starts with the KD 8 Elite and Hyperdunk 2016 Elite (Flyknit), as well as many other Nike running and training shoes. By now adidas and Under Armor themselves are starting to follow this trend. This design is very compact, but makes getting in and out a bit difficult. Also, there’s no specific benefit to having to wear your socks twice every time you go out.

The plus point of CE 2017 is a very short and neat “neck” part. Combined with this design is Forged Primeknit material that enhances the strength of the rather weak wool. Similar to Forged Mesh, Fused Mesh, adidas uses hot molds to harden the surface of the shoe in critical places. The result is a body that is tough on the outside, soft on the inside as well as a unique look.

The wiring system is also more complete with 5 higher position holes and 10 fixed cables on each leg. This provides a stable grip as well as minimizes tension from the laces.

Midsole

Boost mattress is still in use and there are almost no differences in thickness, shape or overall quality. However, the plastic wrapped around the Boost appears to be much larger, helping to minimize the possibility of flipping. In the Crazy Explosive review, I mentioned the Crazy Explosive’s slightly loose heels.

Outsole

Crazy Explosive’s 100% reusable design, an adidas rarity. This coral sole provides a very stable omnidirectional grip, but the Crazy Explosive rubber material is too soft. So soft that going indoor also makes your shoes partially peel off. If adidas used harder rubber for the 2017 version, it deserves an upgrade.

Launch information

Crazy Explosive 2017 Primeknit is launched this July 23 in the US and possibly earlier in the European / Asian markets.

The first two color schemes to be released were “Crystal White” and “Solar Yellow”, with a retail price of $ 150.
