RieNevan CASUAL – Full change from uppers to midsoles, is it worth buying?

Over the past six years, RieNevan has been step by step proving his creativity by regularly releasing the “Made in Vietnam by Vietnamese” shoe versions every year. Besides the popular versions such as RieNevan 23, RieNevan Original or Slipon, the 2017 concept artist Roy’s collaboration version is one of the most impressive shoes that I will never forget in RieNevan.

Opening the summer with a completely new change, RieNevan has launched a new product line called CASUAL. The design is very simple and the materials like me are shared by Tien – founder of RieNevan – which has optimized ventilation and lighter weight than before. I believe with these improvements, CASUAL deserves to be worn on your feet. Although not yet on feet directly, but looking at the improvements below, I immediately ordered a pair for the said experience.

Instead of using leather or canvas as before, RieNevan CASUAL is made entirely of 3D Mesh material. The texture as I observed has many interwoven fibers forming small gaps on the shoe uppers, feeling quite airy and elastic in the shape of the foot better. RieNevan’s team is pretty good, I think. You are always learning and changing to integrate with the trends of the world. Hopefully when I receive this pair, I will have a better experience than before (not to blame for the ball). Since there are not really on-feet shoes on the feet, I cannot fully appreciate the absorbency and comfort of this 3D Mesh layer. I will review this version in detail on the next occasion.

In addition to uppers, the overall shape of the shoe has also been tweaked, enlarging the toe part. In my opinion, with this adjustment, the shoes will avoid long-lasting wearing of toe pain like previous versions.

CASUAL’s shoe sole is not a table as much as it doesn’t really change. Monolithic soles are pressed from rubber, with zig zag groove design ensures the shoe will increase grip when you move or work everyday. However, with a casual version like this, I really hope to have a comprehensive transformation rather than keeping the familiar skate style. Hopefully it will be lighter than the old soles set.

In this release, RieNevan CASUAL has 4 different color schemes for you to choose from depending on your personal style and preferences. You can choose between Black / White / Gum or White / Gum, or White / Red, and Triple Black versions. Official retail price is 590,000 VND (Very affordable! But Tien has sold this pair of 7-800,000 I think is worth it. Head from gray matter with too much effort!).

In addition, on website RieNevan’s current pre-order for this version with a discount of 29% – only 420,000 VND per pair and will start to return from June 10, 2019. If you love sneakers and always want to support good Vietnamese goods made by Vietnamese people, in my opinion, you should not ignore this pair. Less than 500,000, it’s worth investing in a new experience!
