In Japan, creativity is contributed by the work of everyone. We will hear many times learning the word “we” while the West will see it as a certain project in their strategy. Born and raised in Niigata city, he has worked for Asics since 1984 and has enjoyed a lot of success with them.

The idea to embark on Mitsui’s design was to be able to create a running shoe that combined performance with the most advanced technology of its time. His drawing and ideas forced a new pattern of shoe lines to give life to drawings on paper.

Inspiration for creating “works for life” GEL-Lyte III comes from as diverse as he has chosen the split tounge based on the sample LD-Racer and he felt like being out of the way with a unique idea so he applied it to his design.

Not to mention that he wants them to be easier to put their feet on than that you have to pull the rooster every time and prevent them from shifting much while moving. Choosing the reflective GEL logo on the heel with a net-like piece over it, Shigeyuki took the idea from the prison behind bars. He wants people to be able to easily recognize the product without necessarily making it stand out, but still very eye-catching for discerning people.

“A unique feature of GEL Lyte III is the thickness of the midsole section gradually increasing from the low to the high that I have designed. The sole of Asics is now divided into 2 parts, but only 2 parts is still not enough.

The shift from software to hardware rather than being too close together. So another area in between the rationalization of parts is needed to make this transition more natural. Also the placement of the three different soles is necessary to be at a certain angle to help distribute and guide one’s pressure and weight most accurately.

Asics’s technical developers had to put aside other projects just because of the difficulty of designing this midsole. Given the natural properties of the plastic foam, the sensitivity coming from all three different densities is difficult to control. It was not difficult with the technologies we own now, but it was different twenty years ago. The factories produce midsole parts GEL Lyte IIIs to complain over and over again saying they would never want to make such a “troublesome” thing again! But I do believe it’s a really good structure. ” asics-tiger-shigeyuki-mitsui-interview-key-visual1
