Have you heard of the album “Hi, How Are You”? It’s an unfinished album by singer-songwriter Daniel Johnston. Why is called unfinished? The reason is because he was in a nervous breakdown while composing this album. And that is to create the inspiration for one non-profit organization concerned with the mental health of everyone. To support this project, a skateboard shop invited Daniel Johnston to co-present designs for Vans Era and Slip on.

That skate shop is known as NO-COMPLY. This brand is located in Texas with a 12-year history. This city has helped them find connection with Daniel Johnston. They asked Daniel to illustrate two Vans sneakers to celebrate their 12th birthday. Each pair of sneakers will come with a tote bag, scarf, guitar pluck and a cold drink holder. The two sneakers design both use the main white color to create a clean feeling. In addition, the lines on the designs are the same image that appeared on Daniel Johnston’s unfinished album.
