Detailed Review Peak Howard 2

Peak Howard 2 is given with not much difference compared to Howard 1 Low. But perhaps this is one of the rare shoes made wholeheartedly for the striker.

I. Design, Material

There is a little resemblance to the Howard 1 in the midsole and the collar, adding the same material and tape system as the TP9 4. Howard 2 looks more compact than the 1st version while still pretty cool with its familiar sharp edges. The version I have is the Home color scheme of the Atlanta Hawks with white, black and gold tones.

The Peak Surface and fuse take up the majority of the upper area, along with a large synthetic leather wrapped from the heel to the inside of the shoe. Around the neck of the shoe is a layer of fabric pressed in a diamond shape.

The midsole part is just as pitiful as the previous version with similar materials. However, this time Peak equipped with an R-pad to increase the bounce in the nose. The sole is a form of herringbone but has quite a few corners. You can also see the base that follows the R-pad and reveals red under the rubber. This time perhaps Peak used real carbon fiber but placed it above the midsole layer instead of below.

Evaluate:

  • Right size, similar to the other Peak pairs
  • Still have an open nose, hugging heels, lockdown okay
  • Padding is thicker than version 1

As a low / mid neck form, putting the feet on the Howard 2 is very simple and comfortable. However, the design is quite similar to version 1, so I still see a very small piece above the nose. On the other hand, thanks to the lighter material around the ankles, Howard 2 better holds his legs without having to break in.

III. Adhesion

Evaluate:

  • Good grip in clean yard
  • Need to wipe a lot if there is dust
  • The rubber is quite hard and thick, but the outer edge wears off a bit quickly

Howard 2’s base pattern is not a basic zigzag but somewhat interlocking and has quite few angles. In return, the road is quite large and the distance is also longer than usual. When I tested, I was not slippery, but the feeling of not sticking to the wooden floor was also a bit uncomfortable. Perhaps Howard 2 is still integrated with a clean yard and a rough outdoor yard.

Peak Howard 2

Howard 2’s durability is probably decent, but the inner edge on his pair wears much more than the TP9 4, despite playing less. Although it will take a long time to wear all this base layer, I also find it strange.

IV. Buffer / Cushioning

Evaluate:

  • R-pad in the nose is sensitive, has a slight bounce, quite good damping
  • Thick, smooth heels, good damping
  • Transition from heel to nose is a bit strained, especially without break-in.

The Howard 2 can be said to be a better shoe than the Howard 1 thanks to the slimmer, more hugging material, but mainly thanks to the new cushioning. Equipping the R-pad (red layer) in the nose helps to give the shoe bounce. This is also quite similar to adidas adiprene + but better.

The heels are still as smooth as before thanks to Cushion-3, but running from the heel to the transition is a bit strained.

V. Support

Evaluate:

  • Midsole, out sole firmly
  • Wide base edge
  • Solid material, very hugging heels

Similar to patch 1, there’s not much to say about Peak Howard 2.’s support. Everything is pretty much the same with the difference in carbon fiber placement.

Peak Howard 2

Peak Howard 2 is somewhat lighter than version 1 but still retains the necessary certainty.

BECAUSE. Conclusion – Peak Howard 2

Pros:

  • Solid material
  • Very compact design for a mid-range shoe
  • Nose pads bounce
  • The overall foot cushion is very smooth

Cons:

  • Do not stick with the previous version
  • The nose is still redundant

Suitable for those who need a lot of foot cushioning, hitting in or hitting wings. Right size.

Peak Howard 2

Putting aside the grip if you are an outdoor player, Howard 2 is a fairly inexpensive choice for the striker or swingman. Peak could remove a few more parts and refine the midsole a little for even more quality shoes. You can also buy the Plus version to avoid the need to break-in the shoe body and excess nose.
