Last week has been a very stressful week for the Dolce & Gabbana fashion house. The brand is facing a boycott scandal in the Chinese market. The reason for this controversy is due to the clever actions of the brand, especially Stefano Gabbana. The fashion house has taken actions and words that offend Chinese culture, making the people of this country feel extremely angry.

After the show in China was canceled and strongly condemned by the community, Gabbana posted an apology video on the brand’s Weibo page. In the video, the designer said: “We will never forget the experience and lessons learned this time, and that is also something that will never happen again.” Domenico Dolce was also present and stressed that they feel very sad and deeply understand the influence these words have on China and its people. The two eventually asked for forgiveness and apologized in Chinese.

Surely this will be a scandal that affects Dolce & Gabbana. Typically, Net-A-Porter has confirmed it will remove all D&G branded products on their platforms. It is also the first retailer to have a trendy hit on Net-a-porter, MR PORTER, Lane Crawford and Yoox.com.

This action is made after a series of large Chinese retailers have “removed” the fashion house from their selling list. Typical Alibaba, JD, Secoo, VIPshop and Netease. In particular, Secoo Holding has affirmed that this is a racism and Secoo cannot cooperate with an unethical and upright name.
