Comments Nike Kobe AD Exodus

As one of Nike’s top athletes, Kobe Bean Bryant has always been favored with a wide range of footwear such as the Kobe, Venomenon, Mentality (now Mamba Rage), and Black Mamba 24 (discontinued). Now after the “death” of the Kobe line to deploy the Kobe AD, we have two more shoe lines, the Kobe AD NXT and the Kobe Protro. In total we have 5 pairs of Kobe debut within a year.

After Kobe AD NXT 360’s slightly bad launch to introduce new Flyknit technology, there’s the AD Exodus, a shoe with a minimalist look that feels quite different from recent models.

I. Design, Material

The first time the bootie body design was used on the Nike Kobe line (if I’m not mistaken), this is probably something the Kobe designers have always wanted to try. At first glance, the upper of AD Exodus is a somewhat “patchy” combination of four materials: mesh fabric at the toe, composite fiber in the belt around the nose, elastic foam at the reed. Synthetic leather wrapped around the legs and heels.

Midsole made from Lunarlon (no official announcement from Nike) with Kobe extreme design such as the heel and nose tip for increased ruggedness. A fairly large Zoom pad at the heel takes up to 1/3 of the length of the shoe, clearly visible under the sole.

The Kobe AD NXT outsole is “stir-fried” again into a flatter version, not as rounded as running shoes.

If most of the Kobe versions were half the size of me (10.5 US), I would easily put my foot on AD Exodus 10US. This does not surprise me because the upper of the Exodus is really thin, except for a little padding on the tongue and around the heel, it is minimized in the rest of the area.

There are only 4 straps, so it is very simple to put on shoes, but at the same time, it feels a bit too casual. Exodus upper has the ability to hug very gently, a bit “affectionately” but also does not slip heels. In order to bring the best “leg tightness”, when tying the strap, pull each piercing one by one for the most secure leg strap system. Only that small change brings a different feeling to me.

The ingredients that make up “step-in comfort” like Ortholite pads and Lunar cushions are all very well.

III. Adhesion

Even though I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet, at the KicksGeeks’ wooden platform Exodus appears to be quite stable but may still need a little break-in to get the best grip. With the super dense, omnidirectional soles layer, I personally find that you rarely slip when wearing these shoes.

The only problem that can happen is the dust if this rubber base is the same as AD NXT 360. It will be more secure if you buy a non-rubber version but with indoor platforms in Vietnam, it is also not so important.

The base strength of AD Exodus will be quite average, very firm, hard, but its distribution and precipitation density will be difficult to withstand staggered cement. Those who often drag heels also need to be careful not to damage Zoom at heels like Kobe X.

IV. Buffer / Cushioning

Although the Lunarlon or Phylon has not been determined yet, the foam used by AD Exodus is really smooth and has a bounce. The material is quite stretchy and you can clearly see that it compresses every time you tiptoe or press down. The bouncing strength is very light but still available and stable / safe without hardening.

The Heel Zoom section works fine if you’re a heel runner. Personally, I just tried to try my best to feel the Zoom, and I got quite good results. In general, the padding of this Kobe version is better than I thought, at least you get the extra Zoom to get in the way while the price is cheaper than the old AD versions.

One thing I noticed is that the transition from heel to nose is not so smooth.

V. Support

Fit is quite tight, neat, and a heel block as well as the very good foot cover design of Kobe AD Exodus makes me quite secure if I just go try it. However, there have been some feedbacks that the pair is a bit “soft” and feels more like a casual shoe. Personally, I find that if I tie the rope tightly so that the upper bandage is hugged tightly, the overall support of the shoes is not bad at all.

A new detail is the belt from the “synthetic fiber” squeezed right over the toes. Although it is somewhat similar to Kyrie 3, its effect is completely opposite. Kyrie 3 has a very hard shoe body and its “belt” is made from soft foam to increase flexibility, prevent footsteps. Kobe Exodus is very soft, so the belt is used to “hold” the foot and create the necessary certainty.

BECAUSE. Summary of Kobe AD Exodus

Although it is not possible to fully test the performance of this version, it can be seen as a pretty cool change from Nike. This version is cleaner, has more padding and is easy to insert, easier to tie.

With the list price of $ 140, the 3850k money order for a pair of Exodus is quite high. You guys, if you want to fall in love immediately, then withdraw your wallet, otherwise wait for it to fall into the range of 3 million dong, which is just beautiful.

Present KicksGeeks a 10US pair available. Please contact us Facebook KicksGeeks if you want to buy or order another size.
