Detailed review of Jordan Why Not Zer0.1

As the spearhead of the OKC attack since Durant decided to leave, Russell Westbrook increasingly reaped more trophies and parameters. Not surprisingly, he was favored by Jordan Brand for a signature shoe after a long time of sticking. These shoes carry a name that is a bit long, but has an uncaring style – Why Not Zero.

I. Design, Material

“Quite, difficult to understand, but vl” is my initial feeling when I saw Why Not Zero until I held it in my hand. The neat, modern “shell” outer shell while the sharp, sturdy lines at the heel lock in an extremely Westbrook style.

The outer shell for beauty purposes also has a protective effect, creating a form for the upper part. The artificial material used for the shell is quite tough, firm, inelastic, but also not strained and quite soft to the touch. Underneath is a bootie from the mesh fabric with side cabling. In general, Why Not 1 is quite similar to Kobe AD NXT just the AD NXT is a bit more complicated.

The extremely thick and hard heel section is the highlight of the design, wrapped all over the midsole cushion. Under the base is the omnidirectional pattern, with the inner bases you can see a bit of the Zoom inside.

Evaluate:

  • Up half size, slightly tight horizontally
  • Super hugging heels, 100% lockdown
  • The heel cushion is a bit stiff
  • If the legs are not narrow, take a long time to go

The first thing you should know is that the Why Not Zer0 1 takes a little work to get your shoes on. First, the Why Not 1 wiring system is “hidden” behind the outer shell and you have to loosen the wire before you put the foot in. Remember to open the lacelock first. A little annoying!

Once in, Why Not Zer0 1 feels like a tall Kobe AD NXT: solid, but high :). Add a piece of trap and gently tie the laces and you have the best pair of shoes of the season.

Fit of Why Not Zer0 1 is up half a size, at least with its foot size. At size 10.5, I have to go continuously to break-in for 1.2 weeks to feel less uncomfortable. But until now, I can’t go casual for a long time in this couple. One thing I realized in the Jordan lines is that the narrow nose and Why Not Zer0 1 make the sides of my toes take a long time to cry a little.

III. Adhesion

Evaluate:

  • Clinging
  • Read the above

With an extremely dense and “fringed” sole design, Why Not Zer0 1 is ready to play any terrain except in slippery places or over-breaking shoes. The small pattern runs through all directions while also glued to the sides to be ready for any situation.

In a few dusty courts, Why Not Zer0 1 also performed very well and did not stick as much dust as I thought. Combining with cleaning shoes every 30 minutes is more than enough for every ball game with Why Not.

With this super thin sole, the high ability to bite the yard also means the possibility of being destroyed is also higher. So you should minimize bringing out the jagged cement yard. Partly because the rubber will wear out very quickly, partly because the shoe’s Zoom pocket won’t like this.

IV. Buffer / Cushioning

Evaluate:

  • The nose is extremely smooth
  • High sensitivity in both nose and heels
  • The shock absorbers are not really “already”, the heels are stiff
  • Transition is fine after break-in

Full-length Zoom for a signature shoe for $ 125? Are you kidding? But really, Jordan Brand did it and made the fans happier with this decision. Instead of the Zoom top (the Zoom bag is located on the Phylon section and just below the foot), the Why Not Zoom bottom is more sensitive. But it doesn’t mean it’s not smooth, the toe part of the shoe is really top.

Under this Phylon layer is a Zoom bag ?

Due to the characteristics of Zoom bottom, Why Not 1 has a smooth, responsive nose that still has the characteristic bounce of Zoom. On the contrary, the heel part must be said to be a bit disappointing, it is stiff and makes the Zoom feel completely lost “thanks to” the giant heel block plastic / foam. If you are a player who focuses all of his weight on his nose continuously, you will love Zero 1.

The feeling of running with Why Not 1 is a bit awkward at first, but after a period of break-in, it’s quite comfortable. Not too smooth (due to the sturdy heel and midsole) but still enough for fans of Ninja Turtle.

V. Support

Evaluate:

With a shoe for players with speed, resilience and extremely strong gameplay compared to your height and weight, what do you ask for? Flat base? Sure heels? Super hugging shoe body? Hugging enough to not budge? Jordan Why Not Zer0 1 has all of the above, and gives you a feeling of a bit “overwhelming” on the football field.

BECAUSE. Conclusion – Jordan Why Not Zer0 1

Pros:

  • Solid material
  • The Zoom cushion is smooth, very satisfying
  • The sole, the heel is extremely strong

Cons:

  • The heels are a bit stiff if you like heels
  • Need break-in
  • The nose is a bit narrow, not suitable for legs

Jordan Why Not Zer0 1 is for you who like the certainty, the speed and the quietness. The downside is a bit cumbersome with a narrow stringing system, straps and nose. Buy up half the size.

To end this review, I confess that I don’t match the Westbrook couple very well. A pair of shoes that only feel like stepping hard to push themselves to go will definitely be shaking their heads by their therapist. In general, if you are having a full legs and bear a bit of stiffness in the heels as well as a little less likely to reduce your legs, the Why Not Zer0 1 is worth the money. This is also a shoe that Truong Hoang Trung of Thang Long Warriors likes.
