Hood By Air is one of the original high-end streetwear brands founded by Shayne Oliver and a creative director. This brand officially said goodbye in September 2016 when introducing the Spring-Summer 2017 collection. The reason is because he accepted to be the creative director of the Helmut Lang brand, so he will temporarily guard the re-branding itself. The announcement of the Hood By Air decommissioning was quite disappointing at the time by the streetwear community. But now that’s not the case anymore as Shayne Oliver has announced that Hood By Air will be back in the next few months.

Hood By Air is a premium streetwear brand that has gone from strength to strength for over a decade. Hood By Air has won numerous awards such as the Special Jury Prize of the LVMH 2014, CFDA 2015, or the Men’s Fashion Award from the Council of American Fashion Designers. Along with fans like Kanye West and Rihanna further confirmed Hood By Air’s name in the fashion industry.

Shayne Oliver, the baby-faced designer behind the franchise was born in Minnesota and settled with her mother in Brooklyn. Shayne founded Hood By Air in 2006 with Raul Lopez, and in less than a year Manhattan fashion shops sold Hood By Air T-shirts for $ 200. In 2009, Raul Lopez left to form her own brand. In 2012, Shayne met Leilah Weinraub and the two brought HBA together to the pinnacle of fashion at that time.
