Review adidas Crazylight Boost 2016 - Heavy and jumping like flying

If asked which shoe sparked the weight race in basketball, we can immediately think of Nike Hyperdunk. But the shoe that really beats all the usual limits and sets the most unbreakable records is adidas’ adiZero Crazy Light. With all three versions of the turtleneck weighing less than 10 oz. or 283.5 grams in size 9US, adiZero Crazy Light has gained a reputation in its own way.

However, the growth of the basketball shoe industry has somewhat hampered the race to cut this material. After those three versions, adidas decided to add weight to Crazylight, converting the shoe line to Crazylight Boost. In 2014, when the first version was released at the same time as D.Rose 5, CL Boost did not make too much of an impression because there was not enough star power (Damian Lillard only advertised for Crazylight Boost).

It was not until Crazylight Boost 2015 that the new line of shoes emerged thanks to the use of Primeknit with two other superstars James Harden and Andrew Wiggins. 2015 Club is not bad at all but everyone wants to have more Boost on this line of shoes, and adidas does not disappoint fans. The 2016 Crazylight edition using the first head-to-toe Boost sole in basketball shoe history was released, helping the company stay ahead of new trends this year.

Technology:

  • Shoe body from Jacquard woven fabric
  • 100% Boost base
  • Special herringbone base with Continental rubber (on selected colors only)
  • A soft plastic roll cage wraps the Boost base

Weight:

At size 10.5, the adidas Crazylight Boost 2016 weighs nearly 500 grams, 100 grams more than 2015 and 150 grams more than 2014.

Design / Material:

After Lillard 2, Crazylight Boost 2016 was the next shoe adidas used woven upper. If Nike is still using them only for high-end shoes like the Jordan XX9, XXX, XXXI or KD 8, then adidas will only get $ 105 and $ 120 for its products. The fabric on Crazylight is designed very firmly, quite soft as well as has a good texture. A minus point is that this fabric is a bit difficult to wash if it gets dirty, you should avoid sticking with dirt and limit going on rainy days.

The club’s new design is extremely slim and foot length, and adidas also uses very little piercing on this shoe. The heel counter is equipped with a heel counter and a stretch of neoprene for shoe insertion.

The highlight of Crazylight 2016 is the very large Boost base, as thick as the previous Rose 6. To prevent the toe part from tipping over, the adidas attaches plastic pads on the sides. The sole is rounded at the heel and uses a patterned sole with slightly wheel direction. The version that EACHSHOES tested has the Continental logo, which shows that this is a color scheme with a premium rubber material (Most versions with a color base will use the Continental, and the white sole or inner sole will not be available, this is also true for Lillard 2).

Hugging (Fit)

adidas CRazy Light Boost 2016 review

The feeling when I first inserted my foot was quite comfortable thanks to the rather short but smooth tongue. The Jacquard material also ensures the necessary hug and is completely free of leg straps. Having only 4 piercing holes also means you won’t spend as much time adjusting the laces as other shoes. However, in some cases, the cable in the toes is a bit painful to my foot, especially when the heel slipping occurs.

When it comes to heels, this is probably the biggest concern of everyone when buying these shoes. Crazylight Boost 2016 is designed to be quite slim and long, making the heels always leave a bit, even when tied tightly. Buying down half a size or 1 size can alleviate this situation, but not completely. All you can do is make a piercing hole right after the last hole, use a belt puncher or whatever you have on hand.

This new piercing makes the heel hug your leg more tightly and eliminates the slipping of heels altogether. After using this trick, I don’t have pain in my toes anymore.

Sizing: You should buy a size less than 0.5 or keep it and use the above trick to avoid wearing tight shoes. Primeknit version of Crazylight 2016 must buy the right size because it is difficult to put on the foot.

Traction

adidas CRazy Light Boost 2016 review

The most impressive part of Crazylight Boost is this pit base. It performs extremely well on wooden floors as well as cement. adidas also doesn’t forget to make the lines that cover the sole to help you grip the floor at any angle. Unfortunately dust still makes it difficult, you still have to wipe the base after a few turns of balls. Crazylight Boost 2016 has just the right amount of grip, simply not completely dustproof.

Even if Continental rubber is used, the rubber material is still quite soft and easily worn out when playing outdoors. You can go for 2.3 months and stick the base if you want.

Cushioning

adidas CRazy Light Boost 2016 review

To avoid lengthy lines, I can say frankly that Boost in these shoes is extremely comfortable and comfortable. On the heels you have an extra-large cushion under your feet to help relieve any shock. With the exception of Blackfoam (Brandblack) or Zoom (Nike), few shoes feel that way. Not only that, this heel feels sturdier than the other two rival technologies.

Also to say the nose does not feel soft and bouncing like on Ultra Boost. This may be due to the sole of the foot soles below, the hard cloth on the top and the Roll cage section on the outside. The version can feel very light ruffling but not much and very clear. This also means that the toe padding of the shoe is very stable and retains the sensitivity needed for basketball.

If you go to Crazylight 2015, you will feel 2016 a bit slower, but in return, it is much quieter. The Transition also has nothing to table with thanks to its flat base and a comfortable, heel-down Boost.

Strength (Support)

Just one photo above shows you the full-fledged gear of this version of Crazylight. All the plastic details bring the rigidity to the upper part as well as contribute to the original heel slipping. The nose cage roll is very flexible so it still does its job well without getting you stepped on a brick.

The two toe sole edges are enough to give anyone peace of mind about the ruggedness of the shoe. Plus, pieces plastic in the heel helps keep the Boost stable and ensures your feet won’t twist after playing.

Conclude

Evaluation table adidas Crazylight 2016. 4.5 / 5

With the heaviest weight in the Crazylight line, the 2016 version compensates with premium materials, super-smooth cushioning and a sturdy chassis. Even with that weight, a pair of foot-hugging shoes like this won’t make you feel heavy. In addition, Boost with excellent jet absorption also makes it possible to play on the field for longer. Crazylight Boost 2016 Especially suitable for players who like low top and still want maximum protection. Currently you can buy these shoes for about $ 100 or less now Amazon or other websites.

My last advice is to take the hard work to punch another hole because slipping is the only reason why the 2016 club lost points. Do not forget to read more this article if you are interested in this shoe.
