Under Armor Curry 3 – The first images

It’s been a while since Under Armor Hit into the basketball shoe market with the first shoes of Brandon Jennings, but it was only after signing a contract with Stephen Curry that Under Armor really received the attention of the crowd. With the revival of Cury and the Golden State Warriors three years ago, Under Armor has also produced shoes such as Clutchfit Drive, Curry 1, Curry 2 and more recently, Curry 2.5. Whether Curry 3 will help Under Armor compete with Nike or adidas anymore, no one knows. Here EACHSHOES would like to send you the first pictures and comments about Under Armor Curry 3.

The upper is almost identical to a mesh fabric but is actually a new Under Armor knit called Threadborne, which is intended to give the shoe a certain strength while still being breathable. In addition, heat-pressed material (fuse) is also used around the upper edge to increase the certainty. The first 4 eyelets are 4 strips of tape to help squeeze the outside of the upper into your foot.

The heel area is made from Anafoam – the main material of Curry 1. Anafoam is a compressed cushion covered with many layers of mesh fabric above. This lightweight material hugs the foot of the walker while still ensuring stability. Behind the upper is a raised Midsole wrapped around the heel with 2 pieces of carbon fiber.

The other side of the Curry 3 mid is also made from Anafoam, accounting for 3 parts of the upper 4, the carbon fiber is also larger and longer. If a few other pairs like Hyperdunk 2016 make the inside thinner and softer, the Curry 3 is almost the opposite.

Material midsole is still not really clear but the big possibility is the Charged. UA also makes midsole cuts to increase compression. In the middle of the sole is another piece of carbon fiber exposed under the outsole. The sole is mostly herringbone running along the sole except the toe.

The toe section is a bit like Hyperdunk when it adds a pillar point with circular basins right in the cushion in the foot. As in the picture below you can see 2 more areas of the base separated with the ridges running back in. Normally, these lines have to run out to increase friction during horizontal braking (like Hyperdunk 2013). In general, the Curry 3’s base is also very impressive, the distance between the motifs is very reasonable and the base also spills over to the sides to increase the coverage.

Shoe support will at least be decent thanks to the carbon fiber and the wide and rounded surface outsole design. The most noticeable weakness is that the anaFoam heel section is a bit high and will probably interfere with your flexibility. In return, all materials as seen here are of high quality, including thick wire. The price of the Curry 3 is likely to be around $ 130, $ 140.

In addition to the mid version that will be first released, similar to 2 years ago, the Curry 3 Low will also be released later. A strange point is that the upper of the Curry 3 low is designed quite differently from the mid version.

You can see that the inside of the shoe is still (possibly) made from anaFoam and the midsole / outsole design still hasn’t changed much. But from another angle, we can see the difference between the mid and low versions.

The anafoam part instead of a side clamp and uses a traditional reed, covers and replaces the tongue. This burrito style has also been quite popular lately with Under Armor Curry 2.5, adidas Light Em Up 2 and Nike Hyperquickness 3.
