Rose Menace 2 or Rise Up 2017 is a shoe that has been in her attention long since it was discovered that there are two identical shoes with two names. However, it turns out that Lillard Brookfield and Street Jam 3 have the same problem. Both lines are shortened from the more expensive versions Rose 7 and Dame 3, and equipped with outdoor adiwear soles. Here are a few comments about the Rise Up 2017 / Rose Menace 2 line.

I. Design

Rise Up has a rather strange design, the nose is oblong and gradually high up to the heels. The two sides of the neck are “cut” with two more synthetic leather pieces like Rose 7, 773 V to help conceal the singularity and increase the strength of the heel hug.

There are at least three types of materials used on the upper of this line: corduroy, mesh fabric and synthetic leather. Each pair will feel a little different but are quite solid, the difference is mainly the appearance.

Midsole is made from basic EVA-foam and adiprene +, adidas’ highly sensitive foam that was used about 10 years ago. Finally, the herringbone outsole from adiwear is very aggressive.

II. Fit / Comfort

Evaluate:

  • Right size, maybe up half
  • Nose hugging, not redundant
  • The heels are slightly slipping

The neck design is quite open, so it is easy to insert the legs, the Rise Up also fits quite the right size and is a bit flat, quite comfortable for those with wide feet. You note that due to the design has no neck and thin heel pad, it is necessary to tie the strap tighter to avoid slipping. By tying the top and third piercings, heel drop is already acceptable.

III. Traction

Evaluate:

  • Rubber adiwear for outdoor
  • Stick to all types of pitches

The slightly stylized herringbone base line has a tendency to endurance over grip. In the state of dusty yard you still have to clean a little more to get better grip. In return, the durability of Rise Up is enough to compensate for a pretty good grip.

In the state of high-end shoes that have less clutter, the Rise Up 2017 only wears down in the most “stretch” areas. Although this is not the most durable type of dyke, it is also very good.

IV. Cushion

Evaluate:

  • EVA cushion is smooth and durable
  • The damping is quite good

The old cushioning design of EVA and adiprene + (apparently full length) was used when Derrick Rose first entered the NBA, so longevity was quite high. In addition, adiprene + specializes in sensitivity, so if it comes with rigid foam, she does not like legs. But Rise Up’s foam layer is quite thick and soft (medium hardness), responsive, good damping.

Altogether we have a fairly suitable outdoor buffer and the big man. Quiet but not too much.

V. Support

Evaluate:

  • Fit is decent
  • Sturdy heels
  • Wide base, large base edge

Fit of the Rise Up is still quite good and depends on the legs of people walking a little. Left, the base is very solid thanks to the large and large outrigger. Overall the support is quite good and stable for a pair of cheap shoes.

BECAUSE. Conclude:

Pros:

  • Price
  • Nose hugging
  • Soft cushion
  • Durable sole

Cons:

Suitable for: big man, who do not need super lightweight shoes

adidas Rose Menace 2
Rose Menace 2 is the result of adidas upgrading low-end shoes with designs inspired by signature lines, cushioning with old high-end lines, and outdoor adiwear soles. Rise Up 2017 or Rose Menace 2 is worth buying if you can make a sale (since the listing price is still a bit expensive, around $ 90).
