Nike Lebron detailed review 16

Lebron XVI

After eight years of holding the first Lebron shoes, Lebron 8 v.1 Bred, now that feeling is back with the 16 Fresh Bred. The same suede material with the same black and red color scheme, just Flywire changed to Flyknit and Air Max 360 changed to Zoom / Air Max with no less capacity. If the Lebron 15 is one of the most successful Lebron versions in recent times, the Lebron 16 is definitely the best quality Lebron pair in the eight-year refill.

On November 16, 2018, Nike officially held a product launch event exclusively for Nike Lebron 16 at Nike 86 Hang Bong.

I. Design, Material

To perfect the shoe, Nike’s team had to put in place an entirely new sewing system just to make the knit material found on Lebron XVI. The result is a knit class similar to Kobe XI Elite, Jordan XXXII but much more complex and robust. In addition to the knit yarns that are braided into strips to harmonize the upper flexibility and strength, we also have a red “bandage” layer to reinforce the king.

Next is the low neck section with a nice folding reed edge. This design makes it easier to put on the shoe while also preventing the laces from getting caught in the foot.

The midsole layer from Phylon and Zoom combines the Air Max is almost the same with a slight difference in appearance.

And if you do not know, the brands often like to always bring the pattern on the shoe body on the sole and vice versa. That’s why we have herringbone on a Lebron shoe since … 8.

The weight of one at size 10 is 500 grams, 10% heavier than the Lebron XV. It is understandable that this sometimes uses thicker material on both the upper and the sole.

Evaluate:

  • Right size, slim legs can be down halfway
  • Hugs and stronger than version 15
  • Need break-in for heels off

Lebron 16 feet is almost exactly the same as 15, very right size and fit without “difficulty breathing” like the Kyrie 3, Soldier 11, 12. It can be said that Lebron 16 fit is very comfortable but easy to put on thanks to the design the neck goes low.

The new upper knit with leather reed makes for a firmer, safer feel than the Lebron 15 while still holding your feet firmly. However, you will still feel a bit slipped on the heels due to the low neck design and slightly less padded heels. This point will be corrected after the midsole softens, making it easier for the shoes to follow.

I also tried to tie one more hole but the process is very time consuming (the piercings of this pair are just holes passed through on the outer knit layer itself) and does not really improve the heel slipping in the first place. . Break-in is the best answer in Lebron XVI’s case.

III. Adhesion

Evaluate:

  • Adhesion is quite good thanks to the use of herringbone
  • The rubber is not very clingy
  • The sole is more durable than XV but should not be outdoor continuously

With the change from the fine fringed base of Lebron 15, version 16 used the large herringbone (as explained above, the reason is also “beautiful”). However, its grip is still worse than Soldier 12 because the rubber is not very sticky.

If you play on a wooden court, you will see the Lebron 16 biting the floor quite gently and makes little squealing sound when braking. But in return, you will not worry about slipping or having to wipe dust regularly.

For players who need less direction and use more speed than strength, Lebron XVI is completely responsive. One more thing is for sure, we won’t have to see Lebron slip down in very normal shots in the NBA.

The durability of Lebron XVI will certainly be ok than XV but after 3 sessions of playing the cement field, the edge is still worn out as usual.

IV. Buffer / Cushioning

Evaluate:

  • The nose doesn’t bounce as much as 15
  • The heels are extremely smooth, compressing better than 15
  • Transition is fine for a Lebron pair

If Lebron 15 makes you feel a little insecure then the Lebron 16 is the shoe you need. By “holding back” the nose a little, we have a Zoom pad that fits the foot, bouncing when needed, without being precarious when standing in place. Compared directly to the XV, this new version is more compact and only really shows the effect when you run very fast.

Meanwhile, the heel combination from Zoom and Air Max is softer than the XV with excellent damping ability but still helps to accelerate well.

It can be said that the buffer on Lebron 15 shows the extreme of Zoom and Lebron 16 is its perfect application for reality. Lebron 16 is still quite high above the ground but not as high as Lebron 15.

The Lebron 16’s transition isn’t bad thanks to the Phylon system and the Zoom bag evenly spread, but will need a break in for the Phylon layer to soften for the smoothest feel.

V. Support

Evaluate:

  • Sturdy material
  • Fit better than XV in terms of “firm foot”
  • Has an outrigger similar to XV PE

Almost all the changes from XV to XVI are intended to reinforce the support from new materials, the edge of the base, the soles, and even the new neck and reed. However, it must be admitted that this outrigger should have appeared since the XV version.

Lebron 16 feels very much like a traditional shoe with thick, sturdy material. The only difference is that Lebron XVI is not high top, that’s all. The heel is extremely solid with the “lion” leather covering the back.

The “charge” part interwoven into the knit class significantly increases the “alkalinity”, creating an extremely solid feeling while running.

Finally, the Zoom cushion is less bouncing to help create a sense of compactness and safety. Not to mention you will no longer be ice skating thanks to Lebron 15’s rather small base.

Pros:

  • Material durable, luxurious
  • Bounce nose zoom, Smooth heel zoom
  • Upper is not snug but firmer legs
  • More durable and grip, can be played outdoor
  • Finally there is a base edge

Cons:

  • The nose pad is a bit high
  • The heels are also slightly slippery

Suitable for most positions, those who like a lot of cushioning will love this shoe. Fit the right size.

With the price unchanged, Lebron XVI is much more valuable than the old version in terms of performance. Most people from professional athletes to athletes after work will be quite satisfied with these shoes.

Unless you need a pair of real shoes to quickly reverse direction, “reap” a harsh person like Hoang Ca, Lebron 16 is a worthy choice.

Currently, Lebron XVI is priced at 5900k at Nike Vietnam since November 16.
