Review details Nike Lebron Soldier XII

If Soldier XI is too hot because it was left by Lebron James himself at the NBA Finals last year, the XII seems a bit “out of place” even though the number of color schemes that have been released over the past month has been equal to another pair of shoes in a year. To meet the “thirst for review” demand of the Vietnamese basketball community, here are a pair of shoes that can be said to be extremely interesting of the year.

I. Design, Material

Carrying a body similar to Lebron 14 and 15, Soldier XII creates an impressive feeling with a high bootie with dragon scales. Although the upper is not knit like Lebron XV, this neoprene is still very soft and feels very smooth like Dame 4.

As with 11, the nose is made of a layer of leather placed on top of the bootie (only available on the SFG version, the version usually uses cloth). The rest are two straps that handle the overall stability of the shoe body. Instead of horizontal straps like the previous versions, we have a serial system of Soldier 9: two straps go from the toes, crossed over the sides and glued back to the heels. A bit ambiguous if speaking but easy to use because there are only two handles.

The midsole part is still no different from before other than the Zoom bag is a little bigger. The biggest change is in the cleats with thick and continuous lines. However, making the “small dots” in the center of the Zoom pad results in the Lebron logo being somewhat redundant and potentially reducing the strength of the sole.

Evaluate:

• Right size, maybe up half depending on feet
• Good hugging, lockdown
• More flexible but also feels no tighter ankle

With the upper part like Lebron 15, Dame 4 material makes Soldier XII extremely hugging. I still buy size 10.5 as usual but it feels a bit wider than Soldier XI. However, when I tried size 10, it was a bit too tight, so in the end I still only went for 10.5. The narrow legs can go the right size, the rest can still be up half as the old version.

The strap system of Soldier XII only goes across the ankle so you will see a little “gap” above especially if you are too familiar with Soldier XI. Soldier XII gives you extremely high flexibility while still holding your feet and locking down well thanks to the padding around the heels. For those who are extremely fond of the tightening of the ankles like Soldier XI or even X, they should try it before deciding.

On a side note, Soldier 12’s toe is wider but will still be annoying at first because it is inherently a separate layer. After about 1.2 times of playing, I found the nose completely comfortable thanks to the break-in.

III. Adhesion

Evaluate:

• Thick base texture, good dust resistance
• More durable is Soldier XI

Using mainly thick and solid lines, Soldier XII’s sole is like a solid wall for all types of yard. Good dust resistance thanks to the wide gap between the cleats. On the rough tennis court style, Soldier XII absolutely does not lose any breath.

After about 10 sessions of delicious outdoor yard and 2.3 sessions of going to cement yard, I still have not seen obvious signs of wear, especially the “crown” area has not been blown away as I thought. The use of straight and long cleats makes Soldier XII look more durable 11, but you still need to stick the base before wearing on to Zoom for longer play.

IV. Buffer / Cushioning

Evaluate:

• Phylon is tough, leggy
• Big nose zoom, bounce more than XI
• Transition is okay

Just feel by hand, the Phylon part of Soldier XII is tough and more compressed than the previous two versions. This Phylon is closely related to the recent Jordan line and is much better than the hybrid Phylon from Hyperdunk 2015.

Slightly different from Soldier XI, the big Zoom piece of XII feels a bit sinking due to its lack of tension and no obvious protrusion. Instead of the XI’s sensitivity, no-lag bounce, the XII is smooth, compact, but still very clear Zoom. Although the Zoom pad at the heel doesn’t stand out very much, the Phylon feels more supple. In general, Soldier XII is suitable for more positions as well as gameplay.

Transition (smooth running from heel to nose) is not bad thanks to the compression of the Phylon padding, even somewhat better than the previous two versions.

V. Support

Evaluate:

• Dress cushion, wide sole
• The sole is flatter than Soldier XI
• Solid material
• The minus point is not wearing the ankles like Soldier XI

Playing with Soldier XII can be said to be more and more enjoyable thanks to the soft, thick cushioning and extremely comfortable upper layer. In return for one thing I have to say over and over again, you will not feel comfortable with Soldier XI because of the way of walking.

The rest, it must be said that the frame including the base, the buffer also the nose, the heel cover are very sturdy of Soldier XII brings a very safe feeling for the person. The only bad thing I noticed from everyone was that there were a couple of pairs with broken inner straps, which is more like a manufacturing defect because those cases happened on the first ride.

Pros:

• Upper is quieter, softer than recent versions
• The strap system is neat, just stick on both sides
• The nose pad is smooth, thick and still bouncing
• “Frame” is definitely Soldier right

Cons:

• Do not bundle the ankles like the old versions
• The inner strap is defective in manufacture so it may be broken

Soldier XII fits the right size, maybe half the size. Suitable for all positions.

Although there are many improvements, Soldier XII has not been warmly received as its brother. In return, the more durable base and comfortable, easier-to-go materials will attract a certain number of users.

With a list price of about $ 130- $ 140, the best price when returning to Vietnam will be about 2500k – 3000k.
